Description: I was determined to make a statement for the Vernal Equinox and so I did. I produced this 20" X 24" pastel sketch for Spaceweather.com for the first day of Spring 2007- Titled 23 1/2 degree Tilt- The 2007 Vernal Equinox- The Return of the Light.

It depicts the earth in four positions around the solar planetary plane at its 23 1/2 degree tilt constant and relative to the path traveled. The sun is in an exaggerated appearance yet somewhat realisitc as it appears in an h-alpha filtered telescope, yet as Erika described my abstract
form, the artists two left hands appear as holding doctors probes to ignite or to inseminate the conception of new life from the sun; the opposing corners of the perimeter adjacent to the hands depicts a subliminal cosmic conception of the genders. This is my influence from Salvador Dali- *See the info in my upper right column of my Myspace.com site

I've said enough. Let the observer decide- Please feel free to question, comment and criticize. -Mark

Beautiful work. I love how you used the blue in this one. The Sune texture is impressive. I liked the idea behinde the painting. Also nice title. I really like the surrealism in your art.
