Looks great! I'll bet cooldown is less than 20 minutes! I like how you made the collimation bars. That should work very well.

Nice looking scope - how much does it weigh? When do we get the viewing report?

Hi Jarad , the OTA weighs 15.5kgs with my largest eyepiece .
As far as a report goes , I am not much into writing technical reports but what I can say and Mark Mickels will confirm this is that the mirror is of the highest quality. In and out of focus star images are perfectly round.
The mounting design does not interfere with the image quality . What really amazed me was cool down .
Ever time I have taken the scope out from my garage and set it up I have not waited for cool down but have just used it and the images are truly outstanding . The EQ6 is just temporary until I build a permanent set up. It handles the weight OK but the 2m long tube proves to much for it. OK for visual and web cam. When I become more conversant with the jargon and the site I will post a more through report on the scope . But feal free to ask questions .

Hi Mark,

This is an awesome design! I'm currently thawing an ATM project and your OTA design is really very interesting! Do you have any plans?

Cheers :waytogo:
