Hi Jon! Smile It usually takes about an hour to sketch large resolvable globulars like this. The cluster is drawn using the 'stippling' technique - the pencil is held at a 90 degree angle to the paper, and the stars are applied by tapping straight down. Pencils used here were a 9B for the bright core, a 6B for the outer core, and a 2B for the outermost stars. The technique is admittedly a bit tedious but it's easy to do and produces very good results.
