Saw those live on NSN. Very nice captures, especially M 42 which was very near the moon.

Very nice capture Andy. With M42 being so low and near the moon it turned out really well. Sorry I missed your show last night.

My Astro-Video Systems Advanced MK II is packaged up to send back for upgrades and last night was an exceptional night.
So I broke out my old trusty StellaCam III and collected some really nice captures.
I have a new Orion 8 inch Newtonian Astrograph and video cameras seem to do really well with it.
I am posting last nights captures and although B/W they are still pleasant to review.
First up is M1.
I could only get this as no more that a cloudy patch with just a hint of any structure.

Here is M33 with a bit more clarity not as nice as I have seen but still worth a look.
As everyone knows these postings are not as nice as the actual screen appearance.

Here is M77.
It is quite small and a bright core.
The arms are tight and difficult to get any real detail with this setup.
However they are just visible with the appearance of spiral structure.

This is NGC 891.
I am quite pleased with this one.
The gas lane is well defined and the core shows a nice bulge.
The edges are easily detected as well.

Here is the best result I have to date with the StellaCam III on NCG 253.
The little 8 inch newtonian astrograph does a nice job with the StellaCam III.
I can't wait to receive the Astro-Video Systems Advanced MK II with the upgrades to try with this telescope.

Small scope screen grabs from NSN broadcast. Used a C6 @ F2.7 approx., Mallincam Extreme, Lumicon Deep Sky filter. The Running Man was an average stack of 3 two minute integrations while the Orion Nebula was an average stack of 2 60 second integrations. Software used was Miloslick 2.0 and Manycams. No guiding.

and M 42. The C6 does have an inadequately darkened baffle tube which gives rise to the diffraction off of bright stars. Fixable but have to take scope apart to do so.
