What is your purpose? Just for visual or AP?

I would contact Vixen.

JMI sells an AC motor for Right Ascension. It it listed under "celestron polaris" on this link: http://www.jimsmobil...s.htm#Celestron
I use this motor on my super polaris to make the unguided shots in my gallery.

I have a celestron-vixen SP mount from that era and put an Orion true track drive motor on it. I have the dec motor too but havent gotten around to mounting it. I think the celestron motor kits are similar. It was fairly easy to adapt by drilling a hole in through the back side of he altitude part of the head to put the RA motor mounting bolt through. Your mount may already have that. You can get the Vixen motor and drive control, but it costs over 200 bucks if I remember right. HTH Ron

I assume you are taking wide shots of the sky, then. I think the JMI drive will work for you.

The Vixen MT1 is original equipment but any of the eq5 144 tooth drives can be made to fit with some degree of surgery. Alan does a full goto conversion if you have the wonga

The original RA motor was an 8 pin Vixen motor and uses the MD-6 Single Axis controller. JMI used to make a DEC motor and an add-on controller that screwed to the top of the MD-6 for dual-axis control. I have a spare motor, but no spare controller.

I have Polaris on my C-6. I put a drive for an EQ 3 on it. It works well.
