Hey guys,

I currently own the EQ version of the Orion 4.5 Starblast...with the EQ1 mount, and I've been looking into purchasing an altazimuth mount for it instead. I noticed a thread recently by someone asking a similar question...but I do have a few different specific questions. I actually don't want to go over $250 if I can help it. I've discovered some possibilities based upon the weight of the OTA - 4 lbs.

1. Orion VersaGo Altazimuth Mount (does this come with slow-motion controls?)

2. Vixen - Mini Porta Mount

3. Celestron altazimuth mount with slow motion controls

4. Skywatcher altazimuth mounts

Basically...I'm looking for a decently stable mount for a OTA weighing less than 5 lbs with slow motion controls. It would also be nice to find a mount with legs that raise to a comfortable height for visual observant (I'm 6'2").

Does anyone have any experience using any of these mounts? It appears that the Celestron and Skywatcher mounts do not raise any higher than 45" and 48"...so I could probably take these off the list if that is factual information.

Thanks everyone :)
