Another pastel sketch. It was very cloudy but I managed to get a few looks at the moon for this sketch. I'm really starting to love these pastels, but I think I'll need some bigger paper to get some nice detail in my sketches.

Done with the Meade AZ 70mm
Magnification: x24

TenthEnemy,

Very nice capture through the clouds. What are the dimensions of your paper?

Thank you. The paper is 9"x12", and the moon is the size of a DVD.

TenthEnemy,

Try keeping those pastel pencils very sharp. If you are still having trouble getting the detail you want, going larger will do it IMHO.

Frank :)

Hey, that's a fine sketch!

The curtain of clouds in front of the moon globe adds a tremendous depth to the sketch.

Well done!

TE,

An excellent observation of the Moon through the clouds. Using pastels gives the scene a nice glow. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos
