Here is my sketch of the stargate asterism. Thank you Demelza for inspiring me to observe and sketch this one! I had a plan to sketch some galaxies, then my red light broke :( I had to ruin my dark adaptation to do this sketch.

An excellent observation of Struve 1659, the "Stargate." A very interesting asterism. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Thanks everyone, I got a new red light today, which of course is cursed. :cloudy:

I forgot to mention that I did the stars in this sketch in ink instead of pencil. IMO this makes a nicer looking sketch, so I'll probably be doing that from now on.
