Because of its large size I had to digitize my Leo Triplet sketch with a camera instead of a scanner. I thought I had most of the noise cleaned up, but the background was still pretty grungy on some monitors, and some of the brighter stars had digitization effects I had missed the first time around.

Anyway, here's a more cleaned-up version. The difference is more dramatic on the 1200 pixel version, which I encourage you to take a peek at.

Cheers,
-- Jeff.

PS: details on the making of the sketch are in the "Show me your Leo Triplet Sketch" thread.

Jeff,

Nicely done and I love the capture of the galaxies with the details in mottling and shape. The star field is simply amazing too. I can't say enough of this. Thanks for sharing.

Jeff,

Wow, this is a beautiful sketch of the Leo triplet. You have a sketch that is true to the eyepiece view for this group from a good sky. Great job, Jeff. :waytogo:

Frank :)
