I've essentially decided to get an Atlas EQ6 mount, the go to version. But I would like to find the best price, most places have it for $1495 which is also the lowest price I have found; however one place (Telescope.com) is showing a promotion code option on there cart page. Can anyone point me to finding this "promotion code"?

Don't know about any promotion codes...but...if you need to save money... ;)

If you don't mind taking a computer into the field, you can have go-to with the "non go-to" Atlas via EQMOD:

http://eq-mod.sourceforge.net/

;)

If you go this route just be sure that you are getting the syntrek version and not the old pure eq6 which will not work with eqmod. I hear that some sites are still trading the old pure eq6 so be careful.

Just Google "telescopes.com coupons". There is a current one for I think $25 off if you buy several hundred dollars worth of stuff.

Except... I think you mean telescope.com not telescopeS.com

AFAIK, telescopeS.com does not sell the Atlas.

www.telescopes.com does not sell the Atlas BUT they do sell the Celestron CGEM...they are offering 10% off your purchase over $150.00...use code: OU-6234.

I just noticed that code DX-9292 is still working and that gives you a 15% discount with no price limit.
