Someone has to follow the leader. We also foot the bill for all of CN. We can't give away everything.

There is also the CN friends and Family discount that you forgot to include in the price.

seems to me like Astronomics equals or betters most dealers,
and CN must cost a lot in dollars and time
of course, all this talk of optics must generate a lot of sales

I got a question about that...just recently I bought an Astro Tech 8" F4 and several of the TMB EP's. Both are on sale, so does the discount still apply? (I didn't get a discount in both cases) Is the discount on regularly priced items only? I have called in for those orders and told the person that I was a member of CN, but I got no response, like it didn't matter if I was even the President of the USA.
A little cold in my view, but two times in a row?

I have for many years bought most of my astro stuff through OPT. First rate customer service and a discount as well.
I have enjoyed CN so much that I thought that I would make a switch and support Astronomics with my dollars, since they do such a great job at keeping CN running despite the huge task it requires.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Factory authorized sales receive the discount no issues.
Us lowering the price will not receive the discount since the lowered cost is usually way lower then the discount like the TMB eyepieces at $40.

The 8" will get the discount as it is the regular price.

I assume the salesperson just entered the information in the computer. As long as you tell us once and they put it in, it will come up every time and the discount will be applied.

All you need to do is supply your Cloudy Nights username name for verification when you place an order at Astronomics and that is it.

I assume the salesperson just entered the information in the computer.

Even though I said I was on CN, no one asked me any verificaton questions or even my user name. So how would I know if it really got applied or not? Or was just saying I was on CN good enough? Is the discount linked to my "real name"? Do I have to call back and double check?

I have to say I have also had this in mind in choosing to order from astronomics.
