Has anyone have any experience of these mounts. Last Christmas I bought a Bresser 70mm Scope which came with an alt/az mount which looks the same as the Mizar, Maxvision and TS mounts. The mount itself handles my SW66ED scope with ease, however it has the worse tripod I have seen on any telescope. I would only recomend using this tripod for a compact digital camera. Luckily the standard tripod can be taken off and a standard astro tripod can be added. With a decent tripod added, what size scope and magnification can this mount handle? TS AZ mount

I'd go with TS description of 2 KG limit. A good tripod should help steady vibes at higher mags, but would not put anything larger than the 70mm scope that came with it.

BTW, I was looking at what appears to be the same mount head from this vendor for my TV-60. If it can handle your 66mm, then should handle my 60.

Hi Jim, I once owned that mount that you are looking at. It's very similar, but a little different. It worked fine with a ST80 & 90mm Mak. It'll do the job with the TV60.

I have both. Both can easily support my C5 and a 80 mm short refractor OTA.
The Mizar K AltAz mount is from Japan. The Maxvision K AltAz mount is from China. Both are currently available here in Hong Kong with the Maxvision K AltAz mount listing at RMB650 (approximately US$96) and the Mizar K AltAz mount at HK$1200 (approximately US$155).

Interesting that it can handle a C5 & WO80FD, though I'll stick with the 66ED.
