Hello All,

Searched the site, but could not find a clear answer whether an Orion dovetail mounting plate would fit onto the Celestron CG-5 mount.

This has been prolly answered a few times, maybe someone can direct me?

Thanks,
Stephen

Which dovetail plate are you talking about? The CG-5 takes the standard vixen style dovetail plate. Orion sells a couple different ones.

Both of THESE fit a CG-5 mount.. A standard vixen dovetail is around 1.75 inches wide, so you could measure what you have if you are unsure.

Ken is right; I use this Orion dovetail on my C8 and it fits the CG-5 ASGT mount to a T.

Best,

Thanks a lot.

I was looking at exactly the same Orion plates, but could not find the dimension (1.75" width) for them.
