Hi guys,

At the moment, I am pondering on buying the Giro Mini mount to combine it with a Televue TV-60. The TV-60 spotting scope package comes with a 'standard' TV-60 dovetail.

I have read messages on this forum about replacing the TV-60 standard dovetail for better use with the Giro Mini, because of stability issues. Does anyone have that experience? Of similar experiences with small refractors?

Any of you know if the standard TV-60 dovetail actually fits to the Giro Mini (balancing issues aside)? Or will the Vixen style saddle of the Giro Mini prevent me from attaching the TV-60 ertirely because of the misfit with the standard dovetail?

Does anyone have good suggestions, e.g. what kind (brand and type) of dovetail, for replacing the standard TV-60 dovetail?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

By the way, I am looking at the berlebach 2002 to mount the giro mini on

Joors

As I said in the PM, a Televe AVT-1011 Vixen adapter will be needed to attach the TV-60 to a Vixen saddle. The adjustable balance bar of the 60 should compensate for any balance issues with heavier eyepieces.

BTW, welcome to the forums! :)

Thanks Jim! Great info!

So you did not have any balancing problems with the TV-60 and this setup?

I've used TV-60 with the GIRO-mini just once, before I gave the mount to my girlfriend, and thought it performed well with no balance issues that could not be taken care of with the TV-60 balance bar.
