I am considering the Vixen PORTA alt-azimuth mount, but I noticed that there is also a PORTA II available. Does anyone know the differences between the two mounts?

Also note there is a problem with the knobs falling off. I'm waiting to see what vixen is sending me to remedy the problem. Have a feeing it will be cables which I don't want. There are several thread on this mount here and in the Equipment Forum. BW, I bought the mini porta mount.

Maureen,
Are you saying the "mini" is the Porta I, and the "regular" is the Porta II ?

Sorry, got it wrong. Not the same. How are the knobs on the Porta II? Do they fall of the way mine do?

drl,
Check out post #3246008 which tells of the owners problem with the slo mo cables coming off.
A easy problem to solve by drilling a small depression for the set screw to sit in.
