I am looking for a mount for my old 6 inch f/6 reflector. I want something for visual use only and has GOTO capable to do deep sky observing. Would a used baby nexstar mount that currently holds a 4.25" reflector work ?????? The mount i think currently holds the 114mm reflector.

My advice would be to look for a used LXD55. These can be found for $250 and would be perfect for your telescope. A newer CG5 ASGT or LXD75 would be even better, but for value, you can't beat the LXD55.

The biggest issue (besides stability) of the baby NexStar mounts will be getting clearence between the OTA and the base of the mount when trying to view high in the sky.

But it is the stability that will kill you. The tripods on these scopes rate little more than "Toy" status in my own opinion.

Good luck.
