Haven't had a chance to try it yet, Hurricane Bill is set to strike tonight and I just finished modifying the dovetail. I used an Orion Short dovetail that I had kicking around and a few rubber shims and some sticky back velcro. May not be spot on but should allow me to put the scope in the general vicinity.

Cheers

I had a similar set-up when I had a refractor and the EZTouch. I used a Vixen Porta mounting plate on the SS so I could align it in two dimensions. The refractor had an aluminum tube so the SkyScout compass would not be affected.

I worked ok and I found some objects that otherwise would difficult to find by star-hopping. But between the margin of error of the SS and the error in alignment between the SS and the telescope, it would miss the object even with my widest TFOV eyepiece about half the time. Still, it got me in the vicinity and I found it helpful.

Good luck and let us know how it works out in the field.

My EZ Touch has the JMI encoders on it with an Argo Navis. It's a great way to grab and go.
Enjoy.
