Since down-sizing to an ED80 for photography on my SkyView Pro mount I now find that my old reliable 8" Newt is gathering dust. What would be an easy way to mount this for visual use and star gazing between imaging tweaks on my imaging set-up?

I can make a Dobsonian mount, but most Dobs have a permanent central mounting point or hinge.

An SVP Alt-Az mount runs a few bucks ($429).

Can one make a reliable one-arm Dob mount for something as large as an 8" f 4.9?
