See my posting just above the one you quoted. It's a special Mak-Newtonian, 8" F6.

My modest Nextar 8 SE with the Samsung 435 surveillance camera mounted in the back, the Cannon T3i DSLR on top and I replaced the Celestron RDF with one made by Baader Planetarium.

Is that the 8" or the 10"? That's the first picture I've seen that really gives you a sense of how much shorter the f/8 OTA is that the f/10.

Duh. You are correct. I didn't look down there since the signature line doesn't come through on the e-mails.

It is the 10". AFAIK they don't make an 8" version. The OTA is about 18.25 inches long.

Here is my SCT, there are many like it but this one is mine.

8" 'deforked' ACF on a SW EQ6 Pro and a SW short tube on top for the ride. The wide field achromat provides a contextual view of the object viewed in the SCT. The Baader zoom is used quite a bit until I've settled on a magnification and then I switch to a fixed focal length EP. The visual back has been replaced with a Celestron SCT 2" diagonal which was purchased for a now defunct 6SE.

Here is my new tool for my obs (DaHut) in Tempe, AZ. Celestron put the CGEM and Edge series on sale, and i could not resist. The 80mm is from my prior setup, which was a Meade LX200 8".

The old LX200 was on the pier Alt/AZ, with the 80mm piggy-backed. This, of course, is a GEM, and I am trying out the ADM side-by-side arrangement.

Got it polar aligned night before last... was hoping for "first light" last night, but the clouds came in...

It is supposed to be clear tonight (hope hope hope).

Nice setup David, and it does indeed look like we're going to get a break from the monsoon here in Phoenix over the next two days. Woo-hoo! :)

You may like it.... but i LOVE it !!!
It is a short door, and bending down is required.
My wife came up with the idea. Each time i bump into it, i say outloud..... "Thank you honey ! "
