I always say Happy Christmas (since hopefully Christmas or whatever holiday one observes is hopefully a happy one) and Merry New Year since I hope you make merry on your New Year!

I had been hoping to get out and resketch NGC 2264, The Christmas Tree Cluster but health and weather hasn't allowed that. So I took my rough sketch from a year ago and I present it as a Christmas/Holiday Wish to each person here that I hope your holiday season is both happy and merry, and that your sketching efforts continue to grow. Thanks for all the tips shared over the last year!

Here is my poor version from a year ago:

For a better version of the tree go to this APOD: APOD of NGC 2264 Fourth or third from the bottom.

Please feel free to post a sketch of NGC 2264 or whatever sketch you feels conveys your wishes to everyone who has or will post here! Happy Holidays to everyone.

Jay,

An excellent observation of the Christmas Tree Cluster. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

I would also like to wish everyone on the forum Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. May we all enjoy making observations and sharing them in the new year.

Nice sketch! Just got my first scope a couple of weeks back...Tonight I opened some gifts from my girlfriend and I got all the necessary items to start sketching! I am so excited! I can not wait to get out and attempt my first sketches.

I have been viewing all the great sketches in this forum and sucking up all the info on sketching I can for the last week. Thanks for all the help and valuable info posted here!

Merry Christmas

"Here is my poor version from a year ago". No way! Your sketch is the most beautiful Christmas-card I resieved this year.

@ all: Good health and much stars to observe and to sketch for 2010!
