The temperatures over here have been extremely low, worse than we are used to, so I wrapped up well and braved the elements.
I'm lucky to have a decent southerly view and explored Puppis and Canis Major, I'm located at 53 degrees north so they don't rise too high.
M46 has the added bonus of the planetary nebula NGC 2438, the nebula wasn't visible until I popped in an O-III filter and there it was. I used a fine point pen for the stars and the nebula was added in charcoal and blending stump.
Here it is, hope you like it.
Thanks for looking.

This is a wintertime favorite. You have done a superb job capturing the open cluster and PN.

Great capture of M46 with NGC 2438. Weather may clear from me tonight with temps around 10 degrees. It's been a rough winter for some reason in terms of viewing and I'm glad you were able to get this fine observation in.

An excellent observation of M46 (NGC 2437) and planetary nebula NGC 2348 in Puppis. I enjoy observing this interesting pair on clear and dark Winter skies. Thank you for sharing it with us all.
