I could see again the southern polar hood. Mare Acidalium and Mare Erythraeum were prominent. (6-inch Mak @ 144x)

Uwe

Nice details that you've captured on Mars in your rendering.

I hope to go out tonight and observe as we finally have some clearing. Valles Marineris is visible which I would like to see but I know I cannot get that in detail so I sketched it from a Viking mapping of Mars and set Phobos in the foreground, last night.

I look forward to seeing your future observations.

Mark

Dear Mark,
I found out the following thing:

The details I see do not correspond 100% with photographs or maps of mars. It may be that the color sensitivity of the eyes (or: my eyes) are quite different from electronic chips.

Nice sketch again. I see on your posts that Germany had some more luck with the weather this month than Belgium.
I have the impression that you catch every time more and more detail on the red planet. More experience and a bigger Mars?

More experience, I think.

Uwe,

An excellent observation of Mars. The Mars maps available show the compilation of albedo features that have been detected over time. Mars maps do not show what is visible at any specific apparition. I have labeled the major albedo features visible. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Joli dessin Uwe, c'est marrant j'ai fait un dessin de Mars le même jour que toi à l'aide d'une petite lunette 72ed et le même grossissement que toi ! :)
