Note my hardware below...my mount easily balances in RA BUT as much as I move the scope back and forth on the mounting rail my C9.25 with Megrez 90 guidescope will not balance in DEC....any suggestions before I tear my hair out.

Not that unusual. If you can't move the guidescope far enough forward (or back) to balance in dec, you can add some small weights (with Velcro or whatever) where appropriate. Keep in mind that precise dec balance is usually less important than RA balance.

I purchased the following from Losmandy. It mounts on the bottom dovetail without having to add a rail. Works like a charm!

DWS $85.00
Dovetail adapter with a 5 inch long threaded stainless steel shaft and 5 lb weight. Mounts to D series dovetail plates, is used for the balancing of a fork mounted telescope. Wt. 6 lbs. total.

It balances the DEC on my CGEM...without the DDWS it would be impossible.
