Here's a colour version of the raw sketch I posted in the Solar System Observation forum:

Outstanding color version! Love the shades and highlights and the color itself. Outstanding.

That's a gorgeous sketch of what must have been a great view! What media are you using?

Paper and colour pencils (and some digital despeckling; obviously the reduction in size also hides much of the graininess).

Alexis

That's an impressive amount of detail. Much more beautiful than the raw black/white sketch I saw.

Alexis,

The colored version looks even better (although the monochrome image is excellent as well). I labelled the monochrome observation in the other forum. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

I cropped and adjusted the colors a little. I hope that you like it. It is a beautiful rendering of Mars.

Wow, great detail Alexis!

I did a sketch last night at nearly the same CM but didn't manage quite as much. My seeing was a little worse (Pickering 7/10) and while I had a reasonably stable temperature I was also plagued by winds.

(My CO is probably quite a bit bigger than your Newt's as well, but hopefully my limiting conditions are more environmental.)

Anyway, nicely done. :waytogo:

Cheers,
-- Jeff.

Even my limiting conditions were actually environmental, with mirror and body heat being the main limitations!

Alexis,

Looks great. This time around the Mars views have been very good. Likewise the sketches that have been posted here all week have been fantastic.

Frank :)
