Here's Mars drawn on the 29th January 2010 at 22:45UT.

Scope is an 8" F/6 Newtonian at a power of x300.

Seeing was average - III with one very brief moment of massive detail.

The North Polar cap looked different to me - one side was brighter than the other.

A couple of other areas on the disk also looked brighter than their surroundings.

A very enjoyable and rewarding session.

Dweller

I've got the impression you catch more and more detail with every sketch! How many have done so far? Maybe you can make at the end a map of Mars.
