Sorry I am behind the pace here! Finally had some time to sketch out my MARS image taken on 23rd. I am hoping to get some filters at Astrofest next week and see what extra detail might be possible. Can't get across the shear glow of the planet - a beautiful bright peach that was quite dazzling. I love this planet. So hard to see the markings but enough to tease!!

Chris,

An excellent osbervation of Mars. I have resized your observation, placed it within a frame, then labeled it. I hope that you like it. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Chris,

If you wait for steady seeing you will be rewarded with fine albedo features that appear as "canals." I look forward to your future observations.

Chris

Excellent observation and sketch of Mars
That is very similar to what I am seeing in my old 10.1" f/4.5 Dobsonian on a night of reasonably steady seeing.

You and Carlos now have me wanting to look for and sketch Schiaparelli's and Lowell's canali! >
