Whats the difference between these two Link and this Link. I know one has steel tubular legs and the other has aluminum legs. From what I've read they are rated the same as for the weight of telescope.
Thanks
Doug

Steel - heavier, more robust and probably less flex.

I'm not sure what the 'ratings' are, but the tubular steel legs with spreader bar will be far stiffer than the extruded aluminum legs. The difference will show up in the form of vibrations at the eyepiece.

Resonance frequencies, damping, and mass.

Steel if you can put up with the extra weight, is the way I would go. I would consider a good wooden tripod, are you intent on metal?
