Does anyone have any experience with this product? Is it any good and what functionality will it actually add? Will I never have to polar align again?

GPS will tell your mount where it is and what time it is. It has nothing to do with polar alignment. GPS is very convenient if you travel a lot with your mount.

It is a perfectly good GPS device and will give you the locational data you need. Unfortunately it has nothing to do with polar alignments...I'm afraid you will still have to deal with those pesky creatures yourself. Clear Skies, BrianB.

I just received my Orion GPS unit today. After plugging it in according to directions, I cannot get the SynScan Controller to recognize the GPS. I even tried the connection to the computer per the instructions given. No go. Anyone have any idea how to tell if the unit is DOA? I really think I've followed the directions properly.
