there is nothing worse than setting up at the freezing mark and losing the display of your LCD screen or watching it become sluggish. Astro-physics and Losmandy gemini systems are smart enought to use LED's for there HC displays that never phase out when observing in the cold...SO why doesn't Orion or Skywatcher do the same?? with their goto mounts.....
Yes I know they make heater pads for these HC's BUT why??!?!? should I need to run and trip over the cables all night?

Well it depends what is the purpose of the mount i suppose. AP wants their mounts to be as good as possible and to work even in Antarctica so they need to think on every single detail and pick up very good electronic components and you pay the price for this. Skywatcher want to make good mount at affordable price so they make it to work optimal in relatively small temperature window so it is absolutely normal they not to think for these details.
