I'm seriously considering buying this mount. Since there is no slow motion control I am assuming that you would move it by hand. Will I be able to track at 150X?
Any known problems with this mount? I have heard that it sometimes sticks a little when near strait up.
Thanks; Don T.

Don,

A link to that mount would be more helpful.

Over the years, Orion sold/sells
- SkyView
- SkyView Deluxe
- SkyView Pro
- SkyView AZ
These are different mounts.

But I've never heard of SkyView 2.

I do not know how to add a link but it is on the Orion page under mount and tripods. It is $429 normaly but is on sale. It is the only mount they have that comes ready for 2 telescopes. Don T.

Don,

I assume you are referring to Orion #09017 SkyView AZ mount here.

That mount is Alt-Az mount thus has no tracking and certainly cannot do 150x without some adaptations.
