It was stunning view I have got, when looked more closely at Flame nebula ( NGC2024 ). It was a fight for my night vision between Nebula and Alnitak :)

Simply great. The bright star against the not so easy visible nebula - you sketched it very realistic. Thank you.

Nice sketch. As I posted in the deep sky observing forum, I am having a very difficult time trying to make an ID of this object. I am going to use your sketch my next time out to help.

S1mas,

You create many sketches and all of them are first rate. This one is no exception. Very well done. :rainbow:

Simas
Interesting sketch. I allready tried twice to observe this nebula from my backyard without succes(12" telescope and NELM of 4.5). Your Celestron is that a 8"? What was the Naked Eye Limiting Magnitude?

You make a lot of beautiful sketches these days, keep them coming! You manage to give them all a natural look.

Simas,

An outstanding observation of the Flame Nebula (M78) in Orion. This is an elusive target which requires dark skies to pick out. You have captured the delicacy of this reflection nebula. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Carlos
