This afternoon, totally unexpected, a large sunspot was visible on the east side of the Sun. I didn't have much time to observe it (let alone sketch it) because I only had half an hour before I had to go to work. So I made quick pencil sketch, and after work I did some Photoshop editing.

The detail that was visible in my 4" Unitron/Polarex refractor was stunning! The seeing was better than I'm used to during daylight. Too bad I didn't have time to make a detailed sketch, the view was nice enough to make a two hours A5 sized sketch of this group...

Roel,

A beautiful and very realistic observation of the Sunspot group 1057. You have captured the umbra/penumbra very nicely. Thank you for sharing it with us all.

Roel,

Nice closeup and nice presentation. The processing makes your sketch appear like an image.
