The shadow of the ring on the planet was the most easy thing to see. The opening of the ring was visible at moments of good seeing. The shadow of the planet on the ring was very difficult to see.
On the planet I find it very hard to see the bands. The Zone Equatorial is as bright as the ring (I couldn't see the ring before the planet). The South Equatorial Band was small. The North Equatorial Band was much larger but more difficult to see.
I did the sketch without a preprint form (I figured out that the ring is 2.25 times the planet). First I put everything on yellow. After that I darkened (mostly to much ) some regions with black.
1) Freeware Winjupos gives two numbers for declination of earth: 2.1°, B" 2.6°. Which one is the correct for noting the tilt of the planet?
2) Does filters help? I tried my standard set (yellow, red, blue and green) without succes.
All comments are welcome because I felt that sketching Saturn is something quit different than sketching Mars!
