My wife often tells visitors at the scope, when they ask the price, that "I always tell him to buy the best of whatever he wants. Then I can do the same thing."

REALLY makes me think twice about some purchases...

:o :winky:Well. I just cleaned out the garage, bought her tickets to the Dave Matthews concert, sent her off to Austin for a kid free weekend, and I'm having her car detailed while she's gone.
Operation BUTTER UP Is in full swing. I may have peaked too early though. Larry P says the mount isn't quite ready. I hope this works :praying:

I'll just hide all the pointy things in the house, and buy her some flowers...

Pointy things, shmointy things...

I made the mistake years ago of teaching the little lady to shoot. The last "No Bull" match (nickle-sized targets at 200 yards) we were in, she beat the whole field using a borrowed gun.

Now you know why her trust is something I don't mess with...

... Yeah well the Mrs. grew up, up here in Idaho. Not only can she shoot an elk from a mile away, she can field dress it record time. She's all neat and orderly about it too. Its a little scary. There is a picture in her parents house of her first "kill" when she was like 12. Up to her elbows in guts.. all smiles.
... I must have a death-wish messing with this woman.21

Hahahahaha. U guys all crack me up - from Matty's post title to all the devious ideas to outsmart the wifey!

But I fear wives with guns most. Thank God guns are banned here in Singapore. But on the other hand, knives can kill too! :foreheadslap:

Truth is, guns, knives, crayons, or crock-pots, it doesn't really matter. When dealing with she-who-must-be-obeyed, the thing to be remembered is you gotta sleep sometime :sleepy:

My Motto....
It's always easier to get forgiveness than it is to get permission....

Note mine, Mine is, 'It will heal, then you can use the scope'

I know a guy who got AF1200 mount without telling his wife. She got a bit of a suprise when it arrived on her doorstep. I believe he slept on the couch for a week. But like Aircrftr said, its easier to forgive :>

Amusing thread, but I just don't get it.

My wife and I have our own "spending money" allocations in the household budget to do with as we please. I don't criticize her patently frivolous spending on junk like clothes and makeup, and she doesn't bug me about my Obviously Essential Equipment (except to point out that maybe I should consider owning a pair blue jeans without holes).

It works: we never argue about money and we never have to hide anything from each other.

This post is hilarious!!! I can completely empathize. I'm a newbie and wifey and I are still feeling each other out in this game. Everyday is "What is coming in the mail today?" (at least that is what it feels like). Hey at least she hasn't offered to show me the stars for free (as in a wack in the head). :brick: LOL!!!

Call the local radio station and arrange for her to win a cruise on the other side of the world (even if you have to pay the radio station it's still a good deal)... seriously though... good luck... RIP!

Wrong approach. Next time buy her the mount for her birthday.

ala Homer theory! buy your wife a bowling ball for her birthday that has YOUR name engraved on it....works everytime....well, not really ;)
