That is one big cat! I'd advise using a filter when viewing Jupiter. David

Wow, this single telescope has taken Orion two years to manufacture? If so, then they sure enjoy taking their time about it.

Yah 2 years? The 20" Planewave takes 120 days to make and they happen to have one in stock ready for delivery. http://www.planewave...ge=1&id0=0&id=2

I give my finale order in april 2011 with an AG16". The AG16" is finish, So the delay for ODK is one year, the finale Weight is 100 lbs ,better for my paramount.

Yes i see Planewave , but for the same cost , i can have only a 17" ,and in Europe, i can not have a Optic certificate from Planewave (when i ordered this ODK).

So put 30000 $ without certificate , it's not for me.

OOuk give for this ODK a certificate, but it will go directly to www.airylab.com to confirm the optic certificate

Not to scare everyone but here is a discussion of optical quality of three 16" ODK... Double pass. Scary...

Well, it was a pretty good biff until the mods locked 'er down. My favorites quote:

SLODAR - this is not the task of looking at blondes at the beach, and ODK 20, in this case, not a means to Flooding the APOD

Hello

i give you new of my Order.

The ODK was delivre begin of may, and i gone to Airylab ( www.airylab.com ) to test optic.

OOuk promise me LV/4 PV with 45kg, i receive a telescope at 62 kg and see the test :

You can see the serious of this compagny !
OOuk propose to pickup the scope and remake a miror, i wanted refuse, but my lawyer advised me to accept.

So OOuk take back this "*BLEEP* scope" and delivre me 2 month after (july), i tested again with Aitylab

Posted Image

But the miror have only astigmatisme , no spherical error, no coma. We see that the miror is just maintained by center NO MIROR CELL. this astig can be corrected by a cell

I decided to not send back this scope and to remake all mecanic with a more more professional compagny, SKYMECA ( www.skymeca.com ), we decide to build a miror cell 18p in INOX,
Posted Image

and to maintained by center but with a kneecap on CG
Posted Image

you can see all mecanic change here : http://www.felopaul.com/skymeca.htm

with the cell 18p see the optic test :
Posted Image

and the scope in my observatory :
Posted Image

the shroud was not the best choise , so i decide to do this with carbon fiber
Posted Image
Posted Image

Since November (finish mecanic) no star on the sky, no first light on this time :bawling: :bawling: :bawling:

I will give you news when the weather will be better

to conclude : you aderstand that if someone ask me my point of view of OOuk , i will not be friendly !

Quite shocking that they were delivering the scope in this condition.
Looks like you were their Alpha Tester (a Betta would be better than what they sent to you)...

Great redesign, however I wonder why you did not just return the scope to them and buy something else.

best regards
Chris

go in justice, pay a lawyer, wait how long time to see my money back ? Order what ?

It's the firts product, so i had good price, with this money back , i can pay 16" only like Officina or RCOS (more small)
and when i see the quality of this optic without astigmatism, with my friend of Skymeca , we know that it's easy to remake the mecanic, optic not !

The main difficult, is to have a good optic DK ! i don't want a RC F/8 or 9 . Planewave, i see also bad scope test with bad optic, or with fix primary too, can ne be collimate...

So i had good optic 20" DK F/6.8, the mecanic costed me nothing, taked 2 month (week end).

Well this is of course a good argument.
If at least the price was right everything calculated. ;)
I hope to see some images when you start using the scope.

Thank you and bonne chance!
Chris
