Does ANYONE have any experience with this mount? Looks like the MOTHER-SHIP to WO EasyMount. Any hassles with orders??
Thanks, Keith

Hi Keith

I am using one of these mounts during star parties and public viewing events, it is very stable and smooth tracking even at high magnifications. I am also happy with the quality and finish of the mount. I think ordering should be possible even from the US.

The first batch of WO eazy mounts (silver coloured) were indeed manufactured by AOK in Switzerland.

regards
Chris

My opinion as well. As can be seen from the attached pic the AYO mount is also capable of taking quite some load.

One of the only alt/az mounts that I have ever regretted selling. I used to use it with a Tak FS 128 (also gone), and it handled it with ease.

AOK Swiss will be making a return to the N American market soon via Teton Telescope. Included are some newer models with integral digital setting circles.

Does it have slow motion controls? Is the tension adjusted by friction or gears?

No slo-mo but since the movements are very smooth slo-mo isn't really needed. I'm using this mount for more than four years now without missing them.

The tension can be adjusted by friction - continuously from no friction at all up to locking.

There is an older thread

Oooo now there is some good news. I've always felt that this mount had the best "guts" in it's class and just lacked some of the bells and whistles available on others.

I know this is a long shot but ... Mark, any chance of kits to add DSCs to older mounts (original WO branded)?

Is this mount any different than the Stellarvue MG and MGE mounts that they discontinued?

I have also the AYO mount, and I confirm it is excellent.
I use it with my 120 ED at 340x when the seeing is perfect, and I don't need slow motion controls. I was greatly influenced by the review made by andydj5xp to purchase the Ayo mount, and I don't regret my choice.
