Last night I set the alarm clock at 03.00 (!) to make my second whole-moon sketch. Sitting behind my desk, the little 60mm refractor on top of the desk in front of the window, it must be the most comfortable way to make a sketch of the Moon, hanging very low in the south east.

This time I rendered the disk at bit larger (9" instead of 6") than for my previous moon sketch, so smaller details were easier to draw. It took about 75 minutes to complete.

60mm f/6,9 refractor, Deventer, june 3, 03.15h - 04.30h. White pastel pencil on black paper.

Roel,

This is a superb whole moon sketch. I especially like the way you handled the Copernicus-Kepler rays. That is indeed the way the moon looks in a small scope.

Frank :)

Hoi Roel

Mark

Hi Roel

A beautiful sketch you have produced from your observation of the 20 day old moon!
I am pleased to see that you have rendered a larger 9 inch lunar disc in your sketch to attain the finer details.

I enjoyed reading your description which I translated from Dutch to English through the Google Translator.

I look forward to seeing your next sketch work,

Mark
