Inspired by the collage of Kris and Paul, I tried to make something a like. This was my first Mars opposition and this is shown in te result: I have the impression that my 7 sketches are made by 7 different observers! It's clear that I still have to find my own "style".
I'm not a computer specialist and it took me almost more time to put the 7 sketches together than to make the observations. Something went wrong with the compression, the details are not what the should be, but I like the result anyway. It is a nice souvenir!
So this one is dedicated to everyone here on CN who helped me and inspired me in my first Mars opposition. A special thanks to Kris who got me motivated to observe Mars in the first place and Carlos who labeled some of my sketches. :thanx:, this is a great community!

Tommy and Frank, thanks for the nice words.

@ Tommy: it was not my idea to put the sketches together.

Jef,

A wonderful montage of your fine Mars observations made during the current apparition. Your Mars observations have shown much detail and are a credit to your observing and artistic skills. It was my pleasure to label your (and everyone else's) observations for you. Thank you for sharing your observations and montage with us all.

Hi Jeff!

Great Montage! You'll soon find your style, the more hours you spend behind the eyepiece, the more you will develop! The drawings here are a great start! Jupiter will be a good target to practice on too!

Best wishes,
-Paul.

Thanks Paul! Most members of my local astroclub are great fan of The Sky at Night. Why are your sketches not in the magazine? A "how-I-did-it" about your drawings would be a good idea.

Hi Jeff,

I write articles and reviews for the Sky at Night Magazine which have featured my drawings. I'm currently writing a book about Planetary drawing to be published next year!

Paul
It is only the second year I buy the magazine... but I will look in my old issues for your drawings. Keep us informed about the book!

Jef,
Congratulations on your Mars montage. It is a good record of your 2009-2010 Mars experience that you will look back on with satisfaction. :)
