From a dark site and a red zone (M34 & Hartley 2)

I did two sketches las week. The first one M34, was done during my firts trip to a dark site. I wasn't planing to sketch anything, but at 1 AM, I got the urge to do it. It was quite cold and I was quite tired (I drove 250 miles to get there and 250 more to come back!)

DATE: October 4th 2010
TIME: 1 am
PLACE: Réserve faunique de la Vérandrye
INSTRUMENT : Celestron Nexstar 8SE
EYEPIECE: Pentax 20mm (100X)
SEING: Average

The second sketch I did from home on the 5th mostly to confirm the position of Hartley 2. It's my first "fuzzy" so bear with me on this one...

Excellent observations of M34 and Comet Hartley. I hope that they made your trip worthwhile. Thank you for sharing them with us all.
