Glued it back together? No wonder there are no pix of the optics.

But the base and fork are probably a good buy for 75 beans.

That is a first, Tom.

A good business venture would be to sell 'corrector lens insurance.'

Actually, I'm told an SCT with one crack in the corrector plate can work rather well.  It is well worth the price, even if you end up swapping out the telescope and just using the mount.

It certainly is. The balance point must be a few inches in front of the mirror.

6 inch telescope.      I really got to wonder what kind of life some of these people live.   But I guess being that stupid you really don't know any difference.

OK, I virtually never read this thread and certainly never expected to post here, but....

Yet another seller who seems to have mis-located the decimal point.

The question is, is it worth $150 or $15?

Wow. With the way that is set-up, when it slews, it'll knock you off the observing stool.

Hey, there's one of Tom's globes in the background. That must be the Neptune globe!

Putting this here because it's not really a classic.  Though a Parks, it's one of those tupperware altaz mounts that probably did them in.

And hey.  If you can't sell it for months of listing, "reduce" the price from $350 to $450 and add a couple pics!

An old friend of mine (and one helluva salesman) from years ago owned an antique store. He told me many times that if something didn't sell within 30 days of setting it out - double the price.

I used to sell parts at a local motorcycle swap meet and mark my items with prices. After a few of hours of people coming by, I'd decide something was too cheap and mark it up. Sure enough, it would then sell. Not sure if it really works or it was just the luck of timing, but it happened quite often.
