Cool! For some reason I had the first in my mind. Just might be able to do that one.

Is the star party still on for tomorrow and what time are most going to set-up with the early sun-down?

As of 0530 this morning, skies are clear, no wind, good visibility, 53F temp. We're good to go!

Hi Ron,
Look for the 2013 schedule to get posted within a few days. The decisions for star party dates are made via committee, no dictators here, so instant decisions don't happen.

You need a smaller committee then. :) We had a very good time at the Luminarias so I didn't miss you guys. :whee:

But I'm looking forward to next year (I'm still assuming there will be one).

The current conditions at Wickenburg are: Air Temp: 53 F,
Wind 0, Cloud cover: 0%. The sky has that deep blue indicating a low particulate count. Things will get chilly (for Arizona) tonight, so dress accordingly. Sophies Flat here we come!

According to the Clear Sky Clock for Morristown the Clouds won't come in until around 4AM and the moon is up around 2 to 3 AM so it sounds like a good night for Sophies Flat

This is my first time on cloudynights since my holiday trip to California, so I didn't realize it was on the 5th.

I wouldn't been able to make it anyway. I picked up a cold toward the end of the trip (fortunately, I felt fine until after the parade) and even today, I'm not 100% through with it.

Hi Ron,
Yep, Tomorrow is the night/day. However, neither Clear Sky Charts nor NOAA are forecasting decent conditions. I'll be in Kalifornia for the mid-morning report, so I'll skip it.
If we have good weather for the March date, it may be a cometpalooza.
Keep the Faith

Looks like we are going to be clouded out for this weekend. :bawling: I was thinking about bringing the 10 inch Mak too. :( Oh well there is March. :jump:

March is looking better for me too (which means we'll likely get much needed rain).

I was down in Yuma over the weekend for a small get-together of insulator collectors, including one guy who came all the way from Birmingham...England! I brought binoculars and I was going to show James (that's his name) a few things but it was cloudy there, too. James isn't into astronomy but still, I think he would've enjoyed a look at the stars at night in Arizona.

Bumping up a reminder: March 2, Saturday, Moonrise at 11:51 PM. If NOAA is correct, we should have daytime temps near 80. Look for a mid-morning report on Saturday.

Same here! Maybe I'll stay overnight at my mother's house on Friday, then toddle up to Wickenburg on Saturday. Enjoy some Mexican food for dinner, then the stars, and then my traditional session with Dee Snider (ex-Twisted Sister singer who now hosts "House of Hair") on the car radio (KDKB).

Oh, and on the way home, try the new pavement on Highway 74!
