hi all,

I observed Jupiter too :) :

I used at the "holiday" Observatory Kirchheim/Thüringen the
really nice 250/5000mm Lichtenknecker-Kutter.
The seeing was at the eveningvery good.
I used my bino with 20mm eyepieces so -> 250x

First sketch
2011-02-09 , 16:35 UT
second
2011-02_09 , 17:00 UT

The too dark spot near the GRF were very interesting. They looked like too moon shadows !
The big "oval" behind (II ~210°)the GRF is very interesting too.

Bye Christian

Very impressive sketches of Jupiter, you have caught masses of good detail, the second one is my favourite. The planet must have looked amazing through the eyepiece.

I too observed dark spots in the SEB near to the GRS and actually mistook them for moon shadows at first,I believe this kind of thing us normally seen during SEB revivals. Still they are impressive to see.

Christian,

Very fine pair of Jupiter sketches complete with much fine detail and change with time.

Christian,

An excellent pair of late apparition sketches of the King. You might be interested in seeing these images which show the dark areas north and following the Great Red Spot as well as the dark barges in the NEB.

Great sketches! You've really got a lot of detail captured there :)
