I've read somewhere that the SkyWatcher EQ-2 mount(I have this) is the same as the Celestron CG-3 equatorial mount. Can anybody verify this and what is the weight load on the EQ-2 mount I have. The color of my mount is grayish white.

I don't know about the Celestron CG-3, but if your SkyWatcher EQ-2 is the same as the Orion EQ-2 (they usually are) then the weight rating is 9 lbs.

Mike I was thinking that Orion EQ-2 was the same or is the only common thing the name EQ-2. But I must add I just read a review saying the Celestron CG-3 mount is the "clone" of the Synta EQ-2 mount.

I have heard of Celestron CG4 and CG5 mounts but have not heard of a Celestron CG3.
