I'm having trouble figuring out the price discrepancy between this and this. Same model number, huge price difference. What gives?

Well...,

Perhaps its the fact that one shop is a specific hobby equipment supplier with a very specific customer market, whereas the other shop is an international, mass-market online retailer with no specific market designation - with a pricing designed to shift units.

If you need one, going with one's wallet always pays off ;)

Heck, one could buy retail from the other and still be able to make a profit on a cheaper price. *scratches head*

Guess it does pay to shop around.

Makes for a happy wallet and bank balance, too

I saw the same thing the other day. I ordered the one on Amazon.
From what I can gather, the Gemini 2 draws 3 amps whereas the Gemini 1 draws 1.5. Most of the reviews for it say this power supply maxes out at 3 amps even though it claims 5 to 7 amps. I'm hoping this will be enough.

Here is a great source of Pyramid Power supplies. They have the lowest prices. Look at the 10 amp one for under $50. They have the 5 amp one for $25.

The one that's listed on the Losmandy site as an accessory says it's only 3amps. Heck, you could by the 10amp pyramid for cheaper than they're charging for the 3 amp at Losmandy.

I saw that, too. The 5amp reviews were really mixed. Granted, most of the 1 and 2 stars came from R/C guys really trying to push it with recharging LiPo batteries. I used to fly R/C and those chargers are power-hungry monsters.

Good point about the R/C reviewers. That makes me feel better. I guess the most draw would be only when slewing and not guiding.

I have the 10amp Pyramid (PS-15KX) and it works very well. It is a bit larger than the 5 amp (PS9KX), but no so much that is is annoying. I put it in a small plastic tool box to keep dew off of it when needed. When I was looking at buying, I also noticed the poor reviews for the PS9KX, but in looking now 18 out of 19 reviewers of the PS15KX give it 5 stars and the 19th review is 4 stars and the reviewer had nothing bad to say about it. I think the extra $27 for the larger PS is worth it to run my $3k+ mount. ;)
