Mark,
Congratulations on the new mount! It should really handle your scopes well. You're gong to have to let us know how it works out. First light report and pictures...obligatory... :waytogo:

Congrats, Roland was trying to get me to commit to an AP 1200, but I escaped!

Congrats, Mark! Pictures really don't do the CGEM justice, do they? When mine came in yesterday I was totally shocked at the sheer size and heft of the mount and tripod together. I hope we both have a great run with our new mounts!

I've had it for a bit before the show.. Wanted to see if it was all that it was cracked up to be. And it really was.. Worked really well. I did run into the dreaded error 17 thing, which will hopefully get resolved shortly. I was able to back out of it though, and the mount kept right on going, and didn't loose its alignment, which was a good thing.. :)

Quite happy with it to say the least. I DID pick up a pair of the orange replacement ADM saddle bolts at the show. Definitely didn't like the stock ones that come with the saddle. Always felt like I couldn't get them secure enough.

Pics to follow eventually..

NEAF... getting you committed :)

My booth was 1 booth away from Astro-Physics; I had to look at the AP3600 all weekend long... just to come back home to my NEQ6 :foreheadslap:

So I've gotta ask of anyone who was at NEAF. Does Astro-Physics show up with any mounts or scopes to sell, or are they just able to put you on the waiting list and their fun is watching folks drool over their VERY nice stuff? Just wondering!
I guess my assumption is they might sell a few accessories, but nothing else.

Like the other high-end manufacturers (and like most of the others such as Meade and Celestron), they are there to showcase their products and/or announce new ones. They aren't there to sell.

Mark, what a pretty picture: black, silver, white, anodized orange - gadget dreams! Congratulations on your new addition, Fox.

Rusty, I picked that up JUST after NEAF 09.. Couldn't resist.. The one that was at the show I passed on if you remember.. Finder was added last year. The mount, not very long after that.. ;)

Need to sort out a better finder mount. The First batch of rings that were made left something to be desired, but it was all that was available..

The Orange ADM dovetail bolts I grabbed at the show from them this year. Didn't have enough to get the complete set, so I just got those. Of all the replacements they make, these are the ones that are most needed. The stock bolt heads are flat. Never felt I could get them tight enough.. I may get the north pin bolts next year, and possibly the RA and DEC clamp handles too..
