This seems obvious. It is not done to put links to illegal software or cracks or warez in this forum and, moreover, against the rules.
Freeware is another issue, as the copyright notice it says it may be distribued freely then download links are OK.

Another misconception: one does not "get something copywrited." Copyright is just that--the legal rights which automatically attach to the author of an original work. People can and do engage in a variety of activities to document their copyright, but the bottom line is if you take the intellectual property of someone else without their express permission, it is theft, no different than palming it out of a store.
