Thank you all for the comments. Just a note regarding the brightening just north of the NEB on the preceding side. This brighteness is more subtle on the original sketch, and is a scanning artifact.

niteskygazer,

Thank you.

While going through the clipboard I use for sketching, I found this sketch from April 7th. This time I used my 6" refractor and a CED-1 diagonal.

Best,

Hi Sol,

Nice pair of sketches--good to see your work. Comparing the two sketches, it's easy to see the difference between Saturn's appearance at opposition and now.

Sol,

In addition to the subtle differences on the planet the C-ring stands out in your opposition sketch very well.
Both are great to view in comparison.

Frank :)

Sol,

An outstanding pair of observations of Saturn. You have captured much detail over the globe and rings, especially the North Tropical Zone (NTrZ)/North Temperate Belt (NTB) regions. Thank you for sharing them with us all. I look forward to your future observations.

A couple of very nice drawings - it's interesting to compare reflector to refractor.
