I recently got one of these tripods for $89.00 so far i'm fairly well pleased with it. However the star alignments are always miles off when i get to setup at a new site. Then sometimes after i've gotten the star in the EP and am getting ready to hit enter to accept the alignment the mount will go nuts and just start running away from the star when i'm not even touching the keypad.

This mount has the 8403 hand controller which isn't upgradeable or flashable. That is based on the info i've been able to dig up.

Does anyone have any experience with this mount or with this issue?

The other question i have is can i guide this mount with something other than it's hand controller it has two input jacks on the side of the mount.

Is there a PC cable available for these to allow guiding from the pc?
