Jeff,

Excellent observations of M109, The Box, and Arp 269. You have captured all of these objects very nicely in your fine instrument. Thank you for sharing them with us all.

Carlos

Jeff,

Those are some great sketches that you have made. The box is a great little cluster of galaxies. Do you think I could see it with my 10" dob or the C-11 SCT?

I was wondering what an APM MC1610 is though since I am not familiar with it and do not know what size or type of telescope it is.

I've never seen The Box. It must be a mighty sight in the EP. Thanks for posting your sketches.

Thanks everyone!

Buddy, the APM MC1610 is a 16" f/10 Mak-Cass (Intes Micro optics in an APM/Germany tube).

From skies similar to mine (suburban, green zone, NELM about 5.5), your 10" Dob or 11" SCT should pull in at least the two brightest members of The Box. From pristine skies (grey or black zone, NELM 7+), you should get a view pretty similar to what I see in the 16".

Jef, The Box is definitely worth a look, particularly from dark skies.

Jeff.

Excellent! I've been anxious to see a sketch of The Box. I enjoyed the search for Stephan's Quintet (H92) and I look forward to trying to attempt to see a few members of this group as well.

Clear Skies,
Brandon Doyle

Thanks, Brandon.

I found The Box and Stephan's Quintet quite similar in terms of difficulty, so you should enjoy it.

Jeff.
