Well done Alex! It's good to see that, in this day and age of imaging being seen as 'where it's at', sketching can and does still come out on top. :waytogo:

Crikey, I didn't see this one coming!

I am feeling so humbled by this. Especially with the quality of both sketching and imaging that is presented on this site! It makes the cold nights spent at the eyepiece even more worth the effort. I'm sure my family will get a little thrill too when I tell them in the morning.

You know, the "almost" funny thing about this is that this sketch was undertaken from my really light polluted home sky, and the scope is a simple push'n'pull light-bucket. Kinda makes you wonder about the logic of "where it's at",  - just my shot at the imaging boys and girls. Love ya work though, :waytogo:

Alex.

Alex,

Congratulations on your fine rendering of the Eta Carina Nebula winning the April Sketching/Imaging Contest. It was an outstanding observation and rendering that deserved to win.

Yay! Go "Sketchers" - great result Alex (and Roel as well - I missed that one). Nice to see you do not always need a camera to capture the wonder and the majesty of the night sky...
